Riaan
van Dyk
Mr van Dyk is the Chief Executive Officer of Sanlam Fintech and was appointed to the position on 1 February 2023.
He has held a range of executive and non-executive positions in the life insurance, short-term insurance, asset management and savings industries over a period of more than 25 years. Most recently Riaan was Group CEO of Assupol following a stint as a non-executive director of the company. He currently also serves on the Board of SASRIA.
Riaan is an experienced Financial Services practitioner with deep experience across various roles. His objectives at Sanlam are to build Sanlam Fintech as a new digital and direct to customer business, to build a group-wide rewards programme and to be responsible for Sanlam’s digital marketing functions.
Riaan graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a BSc Actuarial Science (cum laude) degree in 1987. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries (Scotland) and a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (1990). Riaan is also a Charted Director (CD(SA)).
